Indianapolis fugitive wanted in child-related criminal case arrested at San Antonio motel after interstate search

Arrest followed multi-agency effort spanning Indiana and Texas
A 37-year-old man sought in Indianapolis on allegations involving crimes against children was taken into custody in Texas after investigators determined he had fled Indiana, authorities said. The arrest occurred Feb. 4, 2026, at a Motel 6 in south San Antonio.
Investigators said the Indianapolis-based inquiry developed information placing the suspect in Texas on the day of the arrest. After that lead emerged, law enforcement partners in Texas mobilized to locate him as he traveled from North Texas toward San Antonio.
Operation expanded as suspect moved south
The arrest was carried out under an FBI-led initiative described as focused on locating and apprehending violent fugitives regardless of where they are wanted or where they attempt to flee. Officials said more than 100 law enforcement personnel across Texas were involved as the search widened while the suspect moved south through the state.
The arrest was described as occurring without incident. The location where the suspect was found was near a bus line providing transportation toward the U.S.-Mexico border, officials noted.
Items recovered during custody search
After the suspect was detained, authorities reported recovering multiple items from his belongings. Those items, as listed by officials, included:
- Two loaded pistol magazines
- A cellphone and an electronic tablet
- Zip ties, a knife and a ski mask
- Lotion, a camera remote and narcotics
- A Mexican passport and both U.S. and Mexican currency
Jail booking and next steps
Following the arrest, the suspect was booked into the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio on an outstanding warrant from Indiana. Officials also reported that an immigration detainer was placed.
As with any criminal case, the allegations connected to the Indianapolis warrant remain unproven unless and until they are established in court. Extradition and court proceedings in Indiana typically determine how and when a defendant returns to face charges, and the timing can depend on custody status in the arresting jurisdiction and any additional holds.
