McLaren Racing Center in Indianapolis: Arrow McLaren expands to renovated Zionsville Road headquarters for 2026 season

A larger, purpose-updated home base for the IndyCar operation
McLaren Racing’s IndyCar program is preparing to begin 2026 from a new Indianapolis headquarters branded as the McLaren Racing Center, part of a facility expansion and modernization project on the city’s northwest side.
The site is located at 7615 Zionsville Road and is being renovated to support the day-to-day demands of a growing IndyCar organization. The team’s move is scheduled for early January 2026, aligning with preparation for the upcoming NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
What is changing: space, workflow and visitor-facing areas
The project increases the building’s footprint from 74,000 square feet to 86,000 square feet, with renovations designed to improve internal workflow and consolidate functions previously constrained by space. Arrow McLaren has been operating from a 33,000-square-foot race shop on Coffman Road.
Planned interior and exterior updates include a reworked lobby designed to display team heritage and competitive achievements, a second-floor mezzanine, a fitness center and an elevator intended to enhance accessibility. The exterior is also being refreshed with additional windows and architectural updates, alongside branding changes consistent with McLaren Racing’s identity.
- New headquarters address: 7615 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis
- Expanded footprint: 74,000 to 86,000 square feet
- Relocation target: early January 2026
- Operational change: move from the Coffman Road shop
Investment and public-sector involvement
The facility work is structured as a major investment in Indianapolis, with a stated project value of $30 million. The development has also involved coordination with state and local economic development entities, reflecting an emphasis on motorsport-related employment, technology and advanced manufacturing capabilities tied to racing operations.
Construction timeline and readiness milestones
Work at the site has progressed through staged renovation and equipment installation. The project has included demolition, mezzanine construction, new window installation and interior finishing. The move-in plan centers on completing remaining finishes, placing major shop equipment and transitioning staff operations into the new space in early January.
The facility is intended to provide additional capacity for equipment, staffing and in-house processes that can be limited by footprint, particularly in areas that affect turnaround time during the season.
Why it matters for Indianapolis’ motorsport ecosystem
The relocation underscores Indianapolis’ status as a long-standing hub for racing teams, suppliers and specialized talent. For Arrow McLaren, the McLaren Racing Center is positioned as an operational base that supports continued growth and a broader North American footprint, while keeping the team’s core IndyCar infrastructure in the region.
