Official City Roundup: Indianapolis Public Notices and Service Advisories for February 21, 2026

IndyGo Service Alerts and Route Adjustments
Residents utilizing public transit should be aware of several significant service changes and detours active today. Following the system-wide adjustments implemented earlier this month, Route 26 (Keystone at the Crossing to Downtown) now operates on a 30-minute frequency seven days a week, including Saturdays. This increase from the previous 75-minute schedule is a permanent improvement to the north-side corridor.
- Route 3 Detour: As of February 18, a new detour is in effect for Route 3 via White River Parkway. Passengers should expect slight delays and check updated stop locations.
- Route 8 (Washington Street): Westbound detours are currently active between White River Parkway and Belmont Avenue due to ongoing Blue Line construction. Eastbound stops remain open at this time.
- Red Line (Route 90): Detours continue near Fountain Square. The Raymond Street platforms remain closed; passengers are directed to utilize the temporary bus stops established along Raymond Street.
- Route 5: A detour remains in effect for East 25th Street from Dearborn Street to Sherman Drive.
Marion County Public Health Department Advisories
The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) continues its seasonal monitoring of respiratory illnesses. The most recent weekly influenza report indicates sustained activity across the county. Residents are encouraged to stay up to date with vaccinations as winter weather persists. Additionally, parents and guardians are reminded that School Exclusion Day is scheduled for February 25, 2026. Students must have all state-required immunizations on file with their schools by this date to avoid exclusion from classes.
Infrastructure and Public Works Updates
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) has officially opened the proposal period for the 2026 Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership Program. Applications became available on February 20 and will remain open through late March. This program allows community organizations and neighborhood groups to partner with the city to fund and execute local infrastructure improvements such as sidewalks and street repairs.
Ongoing construction continues on the 29th and 30th Street two-way conversion project. Drivers should exercise caution in these areas as crews work to modify traffic patterns. Residents in areas previously serviced by Republic or Waste Management are also reminded that Lakeshore Recycling Services (LRS) is now the primary provider for trash collection as of the start of the 2026 calendar year.
Environmental Public Comment Notice
Today, February 21, marks the final day of the 30-day public comment period for the draft air permit (Permit Number F167-49798-00201) regarding the Federal Correctional Complex. Members of the public who wish to submit formal comments regarding environmental regulations or potential impacts of this facility's operations must ensure their submissions are received by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) by the close of business today.
