Public Meeting Notice: Strategic Energy Growth Task Force

Pursuant to Indiana Open Door Law, notice is hereby given that the Strategic Energy Growth Task Force, under the Governor’s Office, will hold a public meeting today, Monday, February 23, 2026. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST at the Indiana State Library, located at 315 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis. The agenda includes a presentation from Caterpillar and continued discussions regarding state energy competitiveness. Members of the public are invited to attend in person or view the proceedings via the official state livestream.

Transit Alert: Blue Line Construction and Washington Street Closures

IndyGo and the Department of Public Works remind residents of significant disruptions along the Washington Street corridor due to ongoing Blue Line infrastructure improvements. As of February 2026, Washington Street is closed to through traffic between Southeastern Avenue and State Avenue. Buses are currently utilizing detours via Southeastern and State avenues, and commuters should note that stops 50605 and 50607 are temporarily decommissioned. Additionally, as of February 18, 2026, the Route 8 detour for the Washington Street closure between Belmont Avenue and Harding Street has been updated to utilize North White River Parkway and Michigan Street. Passengers are encouraged to plan for additional travel time.

Major Roadway and Infrastructure Advisories

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has issued nightly lane restriction notices for I-465 on the city's north side. Starting this evening, Monday, February 23, bridge construction work will result in the closure of the two right lanes on I-465 westbound between Ditch Road and US 421. These restrictions are active from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. Furthermore, in the downtown district, Capitol Avenue remains closed to vehicular traffic for the Indiana Convention Center expansion and Signia by Hilton project. This closure extends from South Street to Georgia Street and is expected to remain in effect through March 2026. Pedestrian traffic on Georgia Street between Capitol and Illinois is also restricted.

Health Department Bulletin

The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) maintains a high-level advisory for healthcare providers following a report issued earlier this month regarding elevated Tuberculosis (TB) disease case counts. While the general risk to the public remains low, providers are urged to follow standard reporting protocols for all communicable diseases. Residents are also reminded that the Health Department continues to monitor local hospital capacity as several regional facilities report ongoing operational challenges. For non-emergency services, including vital records and immunization clinics, the department’s regular Monday hours remain in effect at all neighborhood locations.
