Overnight Ramp Closures on I-465 Northeast and New IndyGo Schedules Impact Thursday Commute

Morning Traffic Overview
Commuters in Indianapolis should prepare for a mix of ongoing construction hurdles and transit service updates this Thursday, February 12, 2026. While several major projects are nearing the finish line, specific overnight restrictions and lane shifts on the city's beltway require extra attention from early-morning and late-night drivers.
Clear Path 465 Alerts (Northeast Side)
The Clear Path 465 project is now 80% complete, but critical work continues at the I-465 and I-69 interchange. Commuters should be aware of the following:
- Overnight Ramp Closures: Crews have scheduled ramp closures from 11:59 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday. Affected routes include the ramp from northbound I-465 to northbound I-69 and the ramp from northbound I-69 to 82nd Street.
- Long-Term Restrictions: Several ramps remain closed as the project moves toward its spring 2026 completion goal. This includes the ramps from 56th Street to northbound I-465, Allisonville Road to eastbound I-465, and northbound Binford Boulevard to westbound I-465.
- Success Note: The new ramp from southbound I-69 to southbound I-465 is fully operational, significantly improving flow for those coming from Fishers and Noblesville.
Interstate 465 Northwest Bridge Work
On the northwest side, the Township Line Road bridge over I-465 has reopened ahead of schedule. However, maintenance work under the bridge will impact late-night travel tonight. Starting at 10 p.m. this evening, February 12, two left lanes on westbound I-465 will be blocked between Ditch Road and US 421 (Michigan Road). These lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Friday morning.
IndyGo Service Adjustments
Public transit riders should note that new IndyGo schedule adjustments went into effect earlier this week on February 8. These changes are designed to improve on-time performance amidst city-wide construction:
- Route 26: Now operates with a significantly increased frequency of every 30 minutes, seven days a week.
- Route 8: A new daily schedule is in place to accommodate ongoing Blue Line construction along Washington Street.
- Rapid Transit: Minor timing adjustments have been implemented for the Red Line (90) and Purple Line (92). Riders are encouraged to check the MyKey app or the IndyGo website for updated departure times.
Local Road Hazards
Recent freeze-thaw cycles have accelerated pothole formation across Marion County. Drivers are reporting significant "tire-buster" potholes on East Washington Street. Additionally, motorists in Fountain Square should expect local detours as a major drainage project continues to restrict access on several side streets to prevent seasonal flooding.
