Near 21st Street and North Tibbs Avenue (near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway area): A separate shooting was reported on the near northwest side just before 3 a.m. Police responded and located a shooting victim who was taken for treatment.
West-side shooting involving a shootout report: Another man was shot around 11 p.m. in what officers described as an apparent exchange of gunfire. Police said a white Chevrolet Impala was seen leaving that area, and the victim was hospitalized in stable condition.
