Traffic and Infrastructure Notice: I-465 Construction and Lane Restrictions
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) report significant traffic restrictions today due to ongoing bridge and roadway rehabilitation. Motorists should anticipate the following:
- I-465 Westbound: Two left lanes are scheduled for closure between Ditch Road and US 421 starting at 10:00 p.m. for bridge construction work. These restrictions are expected to remain in place through Thursday morning.
- I-65/I-70 South Split: The ramp from Northbound I-65 to Westbound I-70 remains reduced to a single lane. This restriction is part of a long-term safety improvement project slated for completion in late 2026.
- Width Limits: A width limit of 11 feet is currently in effect for the I-65 Southbound exit ramp to I-465 in Indianapolis. Large vehicles and freight carriers are advised to utilize alternate routes.
